Nooties
Named AI teammates that write things for you, on demand or on a schedule.
Nooties are named AI teammates with roles - research, planning, writing, status, QA, standup, risk, backlog, estimation, release, onboarding, deadlines and more. You hire one, attach it to a Noot, and run it.
What a Nootie actually does
Running a Nootie gathers the project's real context - its tasks and recent meeting summaries - and produces a written output in that role's voice: a research brief, a proposed plan with sequencing and dependencies, a status draft, a risk readout. The output is saved on the Noot where the work is, so it's there when you come back to it.
A Nootie writes. Out of the box it does not move your tasks, change dates or assign people - it leaves a labelled comment on a task when it finds something concrete, and it can run on a schedule you set. Somebody with Configure AI can raise one to *act*, and then it applies its own safe proposals to the board; it keeps drafting either way. If you want AI that actually manages the project, that's Autopilot, and if you want AI that edits work on request, that's Hoot.
Radar and Uptime ask a few questions first
Most Nooties work from the project they are on and need nothing else. Two need answers from you before they can do anything, and the answers belong to one project:
- Radar keeps watch on a subject you name - a technology, a regulation, a competitor - reading the news and any feeds you add, and writes a rundown with its sources as often as you choose. A run that finds nothing new makes no AI call.
- Uptime checks the web addresses you list and posts in the channel you choose when one goes down or comes back up. It uses no AI at all.
Their setup opens by itself the moment you hire one, press Activate on one, or put one on a project from the Nooties page. (Picking one while you create a new project does not open it; press Finish setup in the project's Nooties box afterwards.) It asks two questions - for Radar, the subject and how often to look; for Uptime, the addresses to watch and where to post - with everything else tucked behind one extra button.
Until it is set up, the teammate reads Needs setup and shows Finish setup where Run would be. It does not run, on a schedule or on demand, and it spends no AI credits.
To change a setup later, choose Setup and settings from the menu on the teammate's card, or Change settings beside the project in its detail panel. The change applies from the next run - there is no need to deactivate it and activate it again.
