Hoot, your assistant
Ask in plain language — and Hoot can actually change things, within your permissions.
Hoot is the assistant built into Noots. Ask it about your work — "what's due this week?", "summarize the last design meeting" — and it answers from what's in your workspace. It can also *do* things.
What Hoot can do
- Find tasks by project, assignee or status, and read one in full.
- Create, edit and delete a task, including its description, priority, assignee, due date and estimate.
- Add a checklist item, and tick or untick one.
- Comment on a task — attributed to you.
- Update a Noot's description, start date or target date.
What Hoot cannot do
- It cannot create or delete a Noot. It works inside projects, not on the list of them.
- It cannot exceed your own permissions. Every action re-checks what *you* are allowed to do, against the database — not against the conversation. If you can't do it, Hoot can't do it for you, and insisting doesn't change that.
- It cannot see a project you can't. A private Noot you're not on returns nothing, exactly as if it didn't exist.
Hoot's writes happen immediately
There is no confirmation dialog — Hoot acts and then tells you exactly what it changed. Everything is attributed to you in the activity log, and deletes are the same soft delete as the board, so anything removed is recoverable from the bin.
Tip
Hoot is at its best for a catch-up after time off: ask what changed on your projects while you were away, then ask it to tidy up what it finds.
