Activities & follow-ups

Log what happened, schedule what's next, and track it all in one Tasks view.

Every record has an Activity tab with a composer that does two different jobs, kept deliberately separate because they're different verbs:

  • Log what happened — record a past call, email, meeting or note. It lands in the record's History timeline, newest first.
  • Schedule a follow-up — create a task with a type, due date, owner and priority. It shows under Upcoming until it's done.

Logging activity

  1. 1Open any lead, contact, account or opportunity and go to the Activity tab.
  2. 2Keep the composer on Log what happened, pick a kind (note, call, email, meeting), and write what happened.
  3. 3Log it — the entry joins the timeline with your name and a timestamp.

Scheduling follow-ups

  1. 1Switch the composer to Schedule a follow-up.
  2. 2Give it a subject, a type, a due date, an owner and a priority.
  3. 3Add it — it appears under Upcoming on the record and in the CRM's Tasks view.

The Tasks view

Tasks gathers open follow-ups from every record into one place. Filter by owner (mine, everyone, or a specific teammate) and by status (open, overdue only, completed, everything). Tasks are grouped by when they're due:

  • Overdue — past due and still open, flagged in red.
  • Today and Next 7 days — what's coming up.
  • Later and No due date — everything further out.
Note

A task is only ever "overdue" when it has a due date in the past and isn't completed — so undated follow-ups never nag you, they just sit under "No due date" until you schedule them.

Jump to the record

Each row in the Tasks view has a shortcut to open the deal, contact, account or lead it hangs off — so you're one click from the full context, not hunting for it.
