CRM overview

An installable sales area — the four objects and how they fit together.

The CRM is an extension

It arrives with the IT & Managed Services and Engineering & Construction presets, and is installable on any workspace from the Marketplace. It's first-party and database-backed, so the moment it's added it works — there's no external service to authorise. An admin can also remove it, in which case the CRM area and all its actions stop.

The CRM keeps your sales world in the same workspace as your Noots, meetings and mail — so a customer's whole story is in one place instead of a separate tool. Open it from the CRM link and you land on Home, a dashboard that answers "what should I do right now?" before "how are we doing?"

The objects you work with

The CRM is modeled on a classic sales object graph: a lead qualifies into a contact and an account, and (optionally) opens an opportunity.

ObjectWhat it is
LeadOne unqualified row holding both a person and their company — the top of the funnel.
ContactA real person you're working with, usually attached to an account.
AccountThe company. Contacts and opportunities roll up to it.
OpportunityA deal with an amount, a stage and a close date, moving through your pipeline.

Two more things sit alongside the objects: Tasks (your follow-ups across every record) and Activities (the logged history of calls, emails, meetings and notes on each record).

Getting around

  • Home — overdue work, deals closing soon, pipeline by stage and deals that need a nudge.
  • Leads, Opportunities, Contacts, Accounts — the list views, each with its own filters and a "New …" button.
  • Tasks — every open follow-up, grouped by when it's due.
  • Reports — pipeline, conversion, activity and aging (a paid feature).
  • Setup — duplicate detection and custom fields.
One search box

The search field at the top of the CRM filters whichever list you're looking at — Leads, Opportunities, Contacts or Accounts. It's the fastest way to find a record without leaving the view.

Note

Every object opens in the same record drawer with the same three parts — Highlights, a lifecycle path, and Details / Activity / Related tabs — so learning one record teaches you all four.
